Windows 10: How to uncap download speed?

This just started a few days ago, maybe a few weeks after I reseted my PC. But I have the problem that every time I download something that isn't through a launcher like Epic Games/Steam but I download directly for example CurseForge or Final Fantasy XIV Online my download speed is so insanely slow that I can't even get a download speed of over 1 mb/s. As I said, I do not have this problem with launchers like Epic Games or Steam. This is also happening when I download something through my Browser. Is there any way to fix this?

Slow Download Speed

• I would suggest you to test the speed using any of the speed test website or app to confirm the upload and download speed.
• I also suggest you to reset the wireless router to check if that helps.

How do I uncap download speeds?

The speed is correct, I will explain what happens:

The data you see downloaded on Steam is in MB (Megabytes) and the download speed is Mbps (Megabits per second).

You only see the download advance around 10 MB per second when the download speed is at 90Mbps because Mb is not equal to MB.

Mb = Megabit

MB = Megabyte

1 MB = 8 Mb

So when you download at 90Mbps it is technically downloading at 10 MB/s

You can change how Steam shows the download speed on Steam Settings > Downloads > Turn off "Display download rates in bits per second".

You will see that the value will change to something around 10 MB/s.

The speed test shows the speed in Mbps, so the 90Mbps value is correct.
