Windows 10: How to uninstall Microsoft Photos from Windows 11

Hi,Every time I open Photos app, a black windows open then close.I tried repair it then reset it but no luck.The uninstall button is grey out.The Photos app in Microsoft Store is saying "you can find these apps in your All apps list"When I uninstall the app with powershell using this command: get-appxpackage *photos* remove-appxpackage, I get the option to install the app from Microsoft Store, but even after the installation complete, a black window open for few seconds then close.The installation was only for few Mega Byte, not the 346 MB.Regards

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if it helps:

Method 1:

I suggest you to change the Default apps in the setting app and verify the result. You may follow the steps in the below:

• Go to settings and system.
  
• Click on Default Apps and select the appropriately.
  

Method 2:

I suggest you to reinstall Photo app using the PowerShell command
and reinstall using the Windows store. Follow the below steps.

• Open the　Start　menu, type　Windows PowerShell　in the search bar.
  
• Right click on the　Windows　PowerShell　and select　Run as　administrator.
  
• Enter the below command to uninstall the Photo app.
  

• 　　get-appxpackage　　*Microsoft.Windows.Photos* | remove-appxpackage

How to disable/uninstall the Photo app in Windows 10?

Hi,

I suggest you to follow the steps below to uninstall the Photo app and check if it helps.

We cannot disable Photos app on windows 10. However, we can uninstall the app and when you require the app you can download it through Windows Store.

I suggest you to follow the steps below to uninstall the Photo app.

• 
  Type Power Shell in the Search bar,
  right-click on Windows PowerShell and click on
  Run as administrator.
  
• 
  Type the following commands, press Enter
  key after each command, in the given order.
  

1. Get-AppxPackage

(This will view all the apps installed in your account.)

2. Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers

(This will view all Windows apps installed in the computer.)

3. Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.Windows.Photos | Remove-AppxPackage

(This will remove/uninstall the Photo app.)

• Restart the system and check.

Photos and images not opening on windows 11

This one works for me but I added this steps:

On Search Bar type %temp% (it will open temporary files) just hit ctrl +A and then delete all

because after following the steps above still didn't work so I did this additional steps and it work!
