  1. How to unpin apps from Pinned apps section on the Windows 11 Start menu?

On the Windows 11 Start menu there are 2 sections, the top section is "Pinned" apps with an option to go to All apps. The bottom section is Recommended apps. How do I unpin the default pinned apps in the top Pinned section? Then how do I pin apps I want to see in the the top Pinned section? I've tried right mouse click and the only option is to Pin or unpin from Taskbar. Going into All Apps menu the only option is to Pin or unpin from Taskbar.I want to change the apps I see in the Pinned section not pin them to the Task bar.

    :)

  2. How do I pin & unpin apps on start screen?

If you want to pin installed apps, tap and hold an app in the app list. Then choose to pin it to the start screen.

If you want to unpin an app, just long press the tile and you will see a unpin symbol (pin with a slash through it). Click that and it is unpinned.

Pinned app on Start menu won't open

    Hi Tom,

The issue may have something to do with the pinned app that you're trying to open from the Start menu. For us to effectively assist you with your concern, we would like to know the following:

    • Have you tried rebooting your computer and see if the issue persists?
    • Does the issue also occur to all the pinned apps on the Start menu?
    • Have you tried unpinning and pinning it back?

    Regards.
