Windows 10: How to update the version of our custom shell

I am running a custom shell as if it was a kiosk system, but I need to be able to update the software version remotely using AWS SSM. I would like it to occur as seamlessly as possible, without the anyone at the remote site aware that an update has just occurred.I cannot install over the top, as it is still running and some libraries are not updated. I cannot uninstall it, because it is the custom shell. I can't stop the process because it will just restart.What is the process for installing a new version of my custom shell?

hi lakshmangiri, it seems that the path you defined in custom shell is not accurate or the applicaiton is not present at path defined in custom shell . Now you can do one thing.

Boot the system in safe mode . Then Click Troubleshoot -> Advance settings ->startup settings->restart

Your computer will restart and present a list of different startup options

press the number 6 key to enter Safe Mode without Command Prompt

Command Prompt will we be appears type explorer and press enter key Desktop will be show in safe mode

Then make a Tool for set explorer.exe in custom shell and copy that Tool in PC. set the explorer.exe in custom shell with the help of Tool. After successfully set custom shell restart or shutdown PC and on next reboot start in normal

desktop automatically

For those who updated please advise:

1. Does the Classic Shell v4.3.1 still work as some have suggested? If not what version of Open Shell is most suitable?
2. Does the update create another recovery partition?
3. Can anyone running MS Money confirm it still works in this update?

I suggest you to try few of the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: Try to end the process from Task Manager and check.

• 
  Press Ctrl+Alt+Del together to open
  Task Manager.
  
• 
  Go to Processes tab, right-click on the Windows Shell Experience Host process and click
  End Process.
  

Step 2: Boot the computer in to Safe mode with networking and if the CPU usage is same.

Step 3: I suggest you to install all the pending updates after upgrade to Windows 10.

• Connect to the internet.
• Press Windows key and type
  updates.
• Click on Check for updates.
• Under Windows Updates, click on
  Check for updates.
• Try to install the updates being shown.

Also, visit the computer manufacturer’s website and install the drivers being found and check if it helps.
