    How to update Windows 11 on an Old Laptop that is End of Cycle


    Hello,I have two laptops: One new and the other old. I am using my old Lenovo Flex 5 Laptop for gaming. The new one I am using for podcasting. I have to do this because the new one broke down on me twice.But my question is with the old one. I have been having driver issues with it. But I am wondering how to update an old laptop that is now end of cycle.I do have some images of what I mean here:

    Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

    When in win10:
    • Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....
    Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
    - Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.

    That would be a valid point if the inflated version numbers didn't break some plug-ins.

    They did it for two reasons:
    1- because both IE and Chrome numbers were suggestive of more advanced software; and
    2- most importantly, Mozilla sought to reduce the deployment cycle of software updates.

    Their next step is to blur the lines of version numbers with a mechanism of persistent updates.

    Personally I couldn't care less. I suggest that if anyone gets too caught up with version numbers they need to re-evaluate their priorities.
