Windows 10: How to Upgrade Laptop with windows home OS activated with a digital license to windows 10...

Hello as the title goes, I'm looking to upgrade my laptop's Windows Home OS, which is currently activated with a digital license, to a Windows 10 Pro OEM license. I've tried reformatting my laptop and installing the OS, but it automatically installs without giving me the option to enter the product key during activation. I understand that once the OS is installed, I can't change the product key in the activation settings since I have an OEM license. What are the steps I should take to successfully upgrade my OS to Windows 10 Pro using the OEM license key?

Hello guys,

I have 1 license of WIndows 8.1 FPP/retail license. I want to upgrade to WIndows 10, but I one thing is unclear to me.
If I upgrade, will WIndows 10 license be retail or it will "turn" into some sort of OEM license?

I ask this because I upgrade my PC, you know, more memory, replace HDD, and I intend to upgrade the MB and CPU to Kaby Lake platform sometime in the future, (and of course sell the replaced hardware)
This thing is not clearly mentioned anywhere.

Ahem... lost my activation when upgrading from AMD Phenom II to my XEON...
Installed "legit" activated Windows 7 Ultimate x64, and yes i paid for the license originally, but that key no longer works.. i paid more than enough to MS *Shadedshun :shadedshu:

Click Upgrade Now, it will give you a download with an app that gives you legit activated Windows 10 based on your Win 7 activation.

The interesting question is that: the upgrade takes place before 29 of July. If I upgrade the PC (change the MB), and I transfer the Win 8.1 license to this new PC (cause 8.1 is retail FPP), will I be able to upgrade to Windows 10 for free? Or a upgrade license must be bought?
