How to hide Win 11 upgrade option

Sorry for the delayed reply. I have been able to test this today I can confirm that this works for all the messages that can appear. I have created a group policy that fixes this.*Smile. This means that the messages will go away even after they were already triggered and shown to the user. The specifics of this solution are: 'target Feature Update version' is set to '21H2'. That is all. No additional registry changes are required. It makes all Windows 11 related messages go away that can appear in Windows Update (see above) that I know of. Which are

1. Message that offers to download and install
2. Message that informs that the computer is compatible (with no option to install)
3. Message that informs that the computer incompatible

 

How to get free upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 10 TP?

First, just an observation: bad idea to replace a fully functional operating system (W8.1) with a testing one (W10 TP). You should have created a separate partition and go with dual boot.

But that is not a problem for the upgrade part. Just go back to Windows 8.1 (reinstall it), install all the updates and you will then be able to upgrade to Windows 10.

My recommendation is to do a clean install after the upgrade. So the steps would be:

• Install Windows 8.1
• Install all Windows 8.1 updates (until there are no more updates to install)
• Download Windows 10 RTM ISO (it is going to be available after the 29th of July)
• Burn the ISO to a DVD or create a bootable Flash USB drive
• Insert the DVD (or the flash drive) and start the setup program from the DVD (or USB drive). This is going to do the upgrade.
• Once the upgrade is finished successfully, boot from the Windows 10 install media (the DVD or the USB) and do a clean install of Windows 10.
• Install al your apps

I don't believe that you can do the upgrade from windows 10 TP, and that is because there is no way to check if you computer is eligible for the upgrade.

 

Upgrading to windows 11

I have a few questions about windows 11...

1. How many GB it is? when my pc suggested the upgrade yesterday, it said it's about 4GB just want to be sure.
   
2. I'm using a windows 10 pro so if I upgrade, will it upgrade to a windows 11 pro?
