Windows 10: How to use earphone's mic instead of laptop's one

I have an earphone using 3.5mm Jack. When I plug it into my laptop Dell Inspiron 3576, the mic that the laptop use is the laptop's one, not the earphone's mic. Is there any way to change it? Earphone mic not being detected

Maybe as a work around you could use a Y spliter. Where you plug in your headphones into it and the other ends will go in your mic and earphone ports on your pc/laptop. Yes i understand they are combo ports but i'm just suggesting this as a workaround till you can find drivers that makes the combo port work correctly.
Here is the cable i was talking about. You don't have to use it but just a suggestion as a workaround and as a last resort.

How to use the built-in laptop mic instead of earphones' mic?

We understand that you want to use Built-in Laptop mic instead of the Earphones mic.



One of the things you can do is to change the default device Recording device from the Sound Control Panel and see if that helps. Please refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows key + R, to open
   Run dialog box.
   
2. Type mmsys.cpl and click on
   OK.
   
3. Now, click on Recordings tab.
   
4. Right click on the device that you want to use, select
   Set as Default Device and Set as Default Communication Device.
   
5. Now, click on OK and check if the issue persists.
   
   

However, we would like to know the model number of HyperX Cloud Earbuds that you are using. We would also like to know if the HyperX Cloud Earbud work on any other computer.
