Windows 10: How to use Hotkeys without fn?

I have an asus ROG laptop. First of all I didn't know how to use the hotkeys but then i learned that you have to press fn key along the f1-12 keys.

Now i want to disable the fn key and only use the f1-12 keys to perform the same functions. As I said I have an asus laptop so I have MyAsus application. I saw tutorials on YouTube which said that you can disable the fn key by going into hardware settings but when I went in hardware settings there was only one option of battery life but according to the tutorials I saw on YouTube there should be other options too for hotkeys and other features. I assume this is because i have an ROG laptop thats why the features have been reduced because ROG laptops already have armoury crate.


I now went on the second option to download Asus keyboard hotkeys to disable the fn key but whenever i open it, its just a welcome screen telling me its functions and stating that this runs in the background and then there was an OK key which closed the application after clicking it.


Please tell me first of all how to use only the f1-12 keys and secondly why isn't MyAsus doesn't have all of its features in my laptop and lastly why isn't asus keyboard hotkeys applicationworking.

How to disable Fn key in hp pavillion notebook?

I suggest you to follow the steps to disable the function keys and check if it helps:

1. Restart the computer. When the hp logo appears, immediately press Fn + F2
to enter the BIOS setup utility.

2. In the BIOS setup utility, open the Configuration menu, and change the setting of
Hot Key Switch from Hotkey Mode to Legacy Mode.

3. Open the Exit Menu, and select Exit Saving Changes.

Note: When hotkey mode is disabled, press the Fn key and the appropriate hotkey to access the corresponding hotkey function.

My Windows 10 HotKeys Wont Work

Hi,

There may be several reasons why the hotkeys stopped working after the upgrade. We suggest you to run the hardware troubleshooter to resolve your concern. Kindly follow the steps below:

• Type Troubleshooting in the search box and hit enter.
• Click on Troubleshooting tab.
• Click on view all option on the upper left corner.
• Select the Hardware and Device options from the list.
