Windows 10: How to use mouse and keyboard at the same time w/o Synaptics?

I had an HP laptop with a trackpad, and I would occasionally play Minecraft when I got really bored or something. When I had first installed it and played it, I realized that something wasn’t right. Every time I moved with the WASD keys, I couldn’t move my mouse for a few seconds, which meant I couldn’t look around. It turns out my mousepad cancels out for a short time after pressing a button on my keyboard. This wasn’t really that big of a deal when I first discovered it, but after a few seconds, it got annoying.


I searched the internet to solve this problem, and after like an hour or two of searching, I finally found a forum that showed me how to solve it. I mean, I guess it was a relatively obscure problem, so that’s probably why it took so long. The solution involved this touchpad driver, Synaptics, which was pre-installed on my laptop and could be accessed via the Registry Editor. Synaptics had specific files that allowed me to edit the values of these other files PalmKMS files to 0. That would essentially fix the whole keyboard issue, and allow me to use my touchpad and keyboard at the same time, which would allow me to move and look around at the same time in this game. Sounds good, right?


Well, I got a new computer a few weeks ago. It’s a Dell laptop, and it has the same issue I had with my old one, only THIS time, it doesn’t come with Synaptics. Instead, it has some other driver HID-compliant mouse that I can’t find any information on. This driver, as far as I’ve looked, does not have PalmKMS files, or any files that I can edit that would specifically remove the delay on my trackpad when I press a button on my keyboard. I promise you, I have looked everywhere for the past week and I still can’t find anything on this. I actually called Dell’s customer support to see if they would know, but the person I spoke with just lead me through a manual scan of the computer. That didn’t really help.


If someone could please help me figure out how to adjust this function, that would be much appreciated.

Let’s try running inbuilt Hardware and Devices troubleshooter to get the problem automatically detected and fixed. It checks for common issues and makes sure that any new device or hardware attached to your computer was installed
correctly.

  Press Windows + W keys on your keyboard to get the search option.
  
• 
  Type Troubleshooting and click
  Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Now click on view all option.
  
• 
  Click on Hardware and Device and follow the prompts to run the troubleshooter.
  

If the issue persists, follow method 2

Method 2:

How to uninstall and reinstall mouse and keyboard, please follow the steps given below.

Step 1: Uninstall the mouse and keyboard drivers.

  Press Windows key + X on the desktop Screen and select
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Expand Keyboard and mice driver and right-click on
  driver and select ‘uninstall’.
  
• 
  Restart the computer.
  

Step 2: You may refer to the computer manufacturer website and try installing keyboard and mice drivers and check.

Note: System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files. This article describes how
to run the System File Checker tool (SFC.exe)to
scan your system files and to repair missing or corrupted system files in Windows 8.1 or Windows 8.
If a Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected.

The above steps holds good for Windows 10 as well.

keyboard and mouse wont work at the same time

The issue you are facing could be due to the keyboard and Synaptics touchpad driver is being outdated. Let’s try simple steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue. I would suggest you to connect external mouse and keyboard and download the
latest Synaptics Touchpad drivers from the computer manufacturer’s website and uninstall the Synaptics touchpad drivers and re-install the same again. Visit the below link:

Note: Make sure you download and save the TouchPad driver and installed it before uninstalling the outdated Synaptic driver.

To uninstall Synaptic touchpad drivers, follow these steps:

  Locate Mice and other pointing devices and expand the same.
  
• 
  Right-click the Synaptic driver and select
  Uninstall. (Note: keep the latest installed Synaptic driver)

Note: Once you click on the Find Solution button on the above link it will automatically detect key board driver as well.

Can't use my keyboard and touchpad at the same time.

This whole thing is outdated synaptics isnt there anymore i think and this isnt in the mouse pad options can you plz help by using pictures step by step or by explaining in detail because none of this is on my windows 10 HP laptop
