Windows 10: How to use the Intel graphic rather than the Nvidia with a HDMI connection?

Hi!

I'm using my old Dell XPS laptop with my Android TV through a HDMI cable. All is working fine!

I'm wondering how can I use the Intel graphic instead of the Nvidia (damned optimus!). I tried to set as the preferred graphic the Intel in the Nvidia control panel but nothing changed. Then I tried to deactivate the Nvidia graphic in devices management and I obtain "no signal" on TV.

What else can I try?

Laptop not recognizing TV through HDMI connection

Hello everyone!

First I do apologize if this is not the correct section for this thread.

I've had issues connecting my laptop to TV for the past day. Connection is done through an HDMI cable. Connection was good up until it randomly turned off itself while playing a game. There have been no hardware or software changes whatsoever that would affect it.

TV is SAMSUNG, Model: UE32J4000AW. Laptop info is available in My PC Specs. (laptop is brand new, week or two old)

Here's what I've tried so far:

• 3 different HDMI cables
• switching between ports on TV
• tried all projection options on Laptop
• Disable / Enable both Intel and Nvidia drivers
• Rollback Intel GPU driver and installed it back to latest version
• Re-installed Nvidia driver
• Restarted PC and TV
• Scan for hardware changes through Device Manager
• Checked Intel and Nvidia control panels - there were no available options
• Apparently both HDMI ports on the TV work as I tried them with a tv box.

I think that's all I've tried so far, will add anything else if missed. Open to suggestions.

 

No output from Intel Graphics 4600

I have installed nvidia geforce 1060 on my desktop running windows 10. I have a connected monitor to my gpu via hdmi working fine, when i try to plug in a second monitor with hdmi to my motherboard using intel graphics i dont get any output. My intel graphics
are enabled from bios. Tried installing latest drivers on both but nothing changed. Even when i unplug my graphics card from the desktop and try having output from intel i get no signal message. What seems to be the problem? It worked fine before when i had
amd graphics card on one monitor and intels on the other. Thanks

Honestly, you have bought a great system.

If I were you, I would go into the BIOS (F2 on Startup) and disable nVidia Optimus in the Graphics Section, which will set the nVidia chipset as your graphics card and it will use the 2Gb of DDR5 on the chipset,
not 2Gb of your RAM.

nVidia Optimus causes your Intel HD to be the default graphics and therefore uses up to 1Gb of your RAM as there is no dedicated memory on Intel Graphics. The nVidia card will be rarely used with Optimus on.
