  1. How to use Windows 11 Device Encryption without storing recovery key in OneDrive.

Hello, I was wondering if it was possible to use the device encryption feature of Windows 11 Home without storing the recovery key in OneDrive or in your Microsoft Account. I know that it is possible to delete the keys, but I would like to never upload the keys in the first place.

    :)

Windows Device Encryption Recovery key not available

    Hello!

I have a computer with Windows 11 home where device encryption is enabled, and I would like to continue using it.

Unfortunately on Microsoft Account I am using to log to the windows the key is not stored. When I am trying to see key under my device at my microsoft account using manage recovery keys I receive a message that I shoould "try another url"

In the first time computer was set up with someone else account, but it is not possible to access this account anymore.

Decrypting device and encrypting again didn't lead to recreate recovery keys on corrent account.

How to force Windows to recreate recovery keys and store it in my account without reinstalling system?

    Thank you!

  3. Device Encryption Key

    Hi,

I am using windows 11 home edition

I turned off device encryption, and I want to delete recovery keys from microsoft account but I am unable to do.

it just shows "deleting this recovery key now" but it wont delete

is it that only windows 11 pro can give you independent control over drive encryption?

Windows 10 for home device encryption - dumb question on recovery key

    Hello,

    My dumb questions are:

    - Is the account recovery key also used for Windows 10 for home device encryption *without bitlocker*?
    - If not, where do I find the decryption key for that non-bitlocker device?

    Background:

I have a laptop equipped with Windows 10 for home. The device encryption is turned on. It does NOT have bitlocker enabled.

I also have 2 other laptops that are bitlocker enabled.

The only recovery keys in my account are:

    - Bitlocker recovery keys associated with the other 2 laptops - I can see these codes assigned to the device names. There is no key assigned to the non-bitlocker device on this page.

    - The recovery code to access my microsoft account if I lose my sign in. The existing recovery code is not visible, but I can regenerate a code which is then visible (and can be printed / recorded).

I have read the articles stating to find recovery keys in my account. I've looked through a ton of online forum questions and internet articles as well and none provide answers to the specific questions above. I found old references to that key being stored in OneDrive. I have checked and have no such key in OneDrive (not in files or personal vault).

    Thanks in advance.
