Windows 10: How to Use Yahoo Alias Email in Windows 10

I hope I don't confuse everyone but I really think this is a different problem than has been previously discussed. I just set up Windows 10 on my desktop computer and attached my existing Yahoo email account. My Yahoo account was originally set up under Former Name which I no longer use, do not want to use, and which few people recognize. Yahoo would not let me change my name on this original account, so I set up an alias account showing Correct Name. Worked fine for years, I just used the alias account showing Current Name on email signature. I just went to send my first email and to my HORROR it shows the Former Name in the "from" field. This will not do AT ALL. I am so sick of computers and governments and everybody and their dog telling me what my own name is! PLEASE tell me how to fix this. I do NOT need the hassle of changing email addresses altogether but I flat REFUSE to use Former Name. Thank you!

Microsoft account email alias problem

i changed the alias and removed the default one, so now i have only the new one in the list...the default one that was their is gone

i did not know that removing the default alias would mean i would lose my original email address, because now my original email adress isnt working.

and on top of that, my new alias or should i say new email address isint recieving emails... over 20 years of usuing the same email address and its gone because i thought a alias was just a display name.

This may not help but certainly worth a try, I've moved to Firefox, tried Edge for maybe a year, it just continued to be not ready for prime time. AFAIK you still can't set a new tab to open as the active window in the foreground. MS has made browsers for years and Edge seems amateurish and clumsy, they made this one for touch devices.

FF is most like IE which was my preferred browser. Anyway, a link to thread is below and a quote of the post within that thread with the workaround.
