To free disc space by removing windows installer patch cache

Hard drive is full. Using WinDirSat I find 40Gb is windows installer patch cache. I can locate the folder and see the contents. I then used following

admin cmd prompt - rmdir /q /s %WINDIR%\Installer\$PatchCache$ and watch as the target folder is removed. I reboot and run WinDirSat only to find the 40GB space is still used by Windows Installer Patch.

Overnight the pc installs windows updates, and the folder $PatchCache$ is present, and contains 1.1GB of data files.

I have re-run the same windows command and again see the target folder removal. When I re-run WinDirSat it shows Windows Installer Patch using 41.1GB.

I cannot find another step that will release this space and would appreciate suggestions please!

    Thanks, Nick

    SLI with different cards

First step would be to try to reinstall the drivers, download the newest windows 10 drivers for your card from nvidias website then chose to do a custom install then clean install. After try enabling your cards to see if they work then try the patch again.
