Windows 10: How to verify my written OS product key matching my device without logging in as an admin?...

I lost admin password for my old Lenovo tablet so I can only log in as a regular user currently. There is a sticky note on it with a key probably I wrote down back then. How do I verify the key is for that tablet without log in as an admin? I also need an advice on how to download Windows 8.1 for tablet ISO since it seems Microsoft removed the download links. Please help, thanks in advance. /cp

There is still a way to search for your product key. Kindly follow the steps below for you to know your product key:

• Press Windows key + X
• Click Command Prompt (admin)
• Enter the following command: wmic path SoftwareLicensingService get OA3xOriginalProductKey
• Then hit Enter

The product key will be revealed, copy the product key then enter it.

Give us an update on what happens.

 

Product key not verified

Hi everyone,

I just finished build my own pc and and everything seemed to work fine. Until starting windows 10.

I ordered Windows 10 Home through Amazon but I did not receive any CD nor USB, just the product key and upon entering it, it says:

'We couldn't verify the product key. Please check your installation media'.

As I tried to browse through the internet for some solutions, my case seems to be unique as I just have the code but no drive from Amazon.

Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

Product Key in Admin Center

Ok, did you download the Microsoft 365 admin center keys?

If not, follow these steps:

Sign into the Microsoft 365 admin center.

Go to Billing > Your products > Volume licensing > Downloads & keys > hover on product and select View keys.

You find product key information for each product, the type of licensing (Volume Licensing Key, Key Management Service (KMS), and Multiple Activation Key (MAK)), and the number of used and available MAK activations.

Select Download all product keys to download the keys displayed for a license to a local drive.
