How to view or edit the custom dictionary?

If you go to Keyboard under Settings, you can hit "reset text suggestions" to return the dictionary/suggestions to what it came pre-loaded with. I don't know of a way to more finely tune it. I would like to see the ability to create and edit a custom word
list, like the custom dictionary list as Office uses.

 

Custom Dictionary

Word Mobile uses \Windows\custom.dic to store custom words/spellings. There is another word completion dictionary stored in \Windows\dyncompdict.dat (and, in some cases, \Windows\dyncompdict.tmp). You can edit either of these files with a text editor.

To clear predictive text, go to Start>Settings>Personal>Input, Word Completion tab, "Clear Stored

Entries" button. Hope that helps.

Thank you for posting to the forum. I do apologize that the link is no longer valid. When it comes to posting links to other threads I fall in between the two camps. I think it is okay to post links but I like to see the meat of the post recorded in the
thread where the duplicate question was asked. To me this is both courteous to the poster and it prevents issues like the one we have found here.

As for the issue in this post. This is related to clearing the entries added to your custom dictionary. The answer to this is that a single entry cannot be deleted, at least as far as I have found. There is an option to reset the dictionaries, found by
going to settings > keyboard > typing settings > reset suggestions. I have also looked into this on the Windows phone 8 and find that the option to remove individual entries is not available.
