Discussion: Is August 15-31 a good time of year to get a great deal on a new laptop with at least a 256 GB SSD, 8 GB of DDR4 RAM, Wi-Fi 6 and a full HD 15.6" display? (Saturday, August 13th, 2022)

I'll see about getting a laptop like this not over $329.99 this time next year. HP 15-dw3363st 15.6" Laptop, Intel Core i3, 8GB Memory, 256GB SSD, Windows 11 Home (4Z3A9UA#ABA) | Staples It is within well within 30 days of the last day of IFA Berlin 2022, after all. Maybe there will be plenty more PCs 12th generation Intel processors available online this time next month.

 

8 gb RAM vs an SSD for my HP Laptop 15

Hi,

There are a number of Windows Services that run frequently... One is the "Antimalware Service"...

This can really slow things down, especially with what is probably a 5,400rpm HDD...

Depending on the CPU, the machine may be limited in performance simply by that...

I was not impressed by a fairly new HP laptop with a Intel i5 CPU and 8GB of memory that I purchased...

Replacing the 500GB 5,400rpm HDD with a SSD made a HUGE difference, but it still takes 15-20 seconds longer to boot than my Desktop machine...

Look in the Startup tab of Taskmanager... My Laptop had all kinds of stuff preinstalled by the manufacturer..

 

Intel core i3-7100

In the test for windows 11 it's telling me that I have the Intel core i3-7100 and is not compatible with windows 11. But it is on the list to be compatible with windows 11. So why am I getting this message.
