Windows 10: HP 255 G10 Notebook PC Lagging Every 20 Seconds When Plugged In to Charge

Hi Microsoft Community,I’ve been experiencing an issue with my HP 255 15.6 Inch G10 Notebook PC. Every time I plug it in to charge, the laptop starts to lag every 20 seconds. When it’s running on battery, the lag spikes don’t happen.Here’s what I’ve tried so far:Tested with a different charger.Used different power outlets.Checked Task Manager for unusual resource usage nothing stands out.Ensured my Windows 11 OS and drivers are up to date.The laptop is only a few months old. Could it be related to the power plan, battery settings, or a hardware fault?Any advice or troubleshooting tips would

I see that your laptop’s battery is not charging. We would like to know, if you get a message stating plugged in not charging when hovering the mouse over the battery icon.



If you see the message plugged in not charging, I suggest you to refer the troubleshooting steps mentioned below and see if that helps:

1. Press Windows Logo key + X, and select
   Device Manager.
   
2. Expand Battery.
   
3. Right click on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery, and select
   Uninstall.
   
4. Click OK to confirm.
   
5. Restart the computer.
