  1. HP 255 G10 Notebook PC Lagging Every 20 Seconds When Plugged In to Charger

Hi Microsoft Community,I'm experiencing a recurring issue with my HP 255 15.6" G10 Notebook PC. Every time I plug the laptop in to charge, it starts lagging or stuttering roughly every 20 seconds. This issue doesn’t occur when the device is running on battery power — it performs smoothly. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:Tested with a different charger – to rule out a faulty or incompatible adapter.Tried multiple power outlets – to eliminate the possibility of a bad wall socket or unstable power source.Checked Task Manager for abnormal resource usage – nothing unusual shows up during the lag spike

Firmware for HP 255 G7 Notebook

Click the Details tab and then select Hardware Ids in the drop-down menu.
Submit an image of that window.

THIS is the only firmware update listed for your HP.

Firmware for HP 255 G7 Notebook

The version shown on the site I listed is

HP 255 G10 Notebook PC Lagging Every 20 Seconds When Plugged In to Charger 303006d1603386357t-firmware-hp-255-g7-notebook-1.png

That may mean the one you have installed is later..

The link in post #2 shows an earlier version (see date):

I therefore think you should go by the text of the message in your first post.

I wonder how you got a later version than WU is offering now...or is available on HPs site- or so it seems.

That leaves dealing with a prompt you don't want... when does it occur? Is your PC otherwise ok?
