Windows 10: HP All-in-one refusing to send security code after update for login

I purchased my HP all-in-one two months ago. The latest issue with this computer has been the fact that after a Windows update yesterday, it has wiped my Windows PIN and demands I re-set it. It goes to log me in to windows but then a second screen demands I send a security code. I have done this several times and the security code never arrives. I have even tried updating my security info so now I can’t even send a security code as the security info takes thirty days to approve and I can’t cancel it as it requires, guess what, a security code, which never arrives. Short of wiping the computer

Windows Live Mail 2012 refuses to send emails, claims they're spam

My wife uses Windows Live Mail 2012 and says it refuses to send emails, claiming they're spam. This is even replying to someone who is in her contacts list. I have run several different virus checks and nothing comes up. Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

 

HP Confirms Security Hole on 82 Notebook Models

HP has released an update for 82 different notebook models that could potentially be affected by a security hole linked to the HP Info Center software. The update, which you can download L: here, deactivates the vulnerable software until a proper patch is released. Anyone with a HP or Compaq notebook listed on L: this page could potentially be affected by the problem and should download the patch as soon as possible. The vulnerability can be exploited by attackers when certain websites are visited using Internet Explorer 6 or 7, and is not resolved by uninstalling the software - you must use the patch from HP.

No sign-in options on login screen on new HP computer.

Set up my new HP computer, including setting a PIN for login. However, the login screen didn't offer any sign-in options to allow me to use a PIN.

After searching and trying various forum suggestions, the login screen continued to stubbornly refuse to offer me any sign-in options. I began to suspect the problem lay within the pre-installed HP software. I eventually discovered within the HP Client Security
program, under Security Features, that Windows Logon Security had been enabled, which disabled Windows Hello (including the Hello PIN). I disabled Windows Logon Security.

Success! I can now log into Windows with a PIN.

Hope this is useful to anyone else struggling with this problem.
