Windows 10: HP Businessjet 8600 & 8610 Won't Print after Windows 2004 update

I ran the Windows 10 ver 2004 update on Wednesday August 8th. After the update both of my Businessjet printers stopped printing. On the 8600 connected wirelessly print jobs would be sent but not print. The 8610 connected by USB could not be "found" at all. I performed a complete uninstall and clean reinstall on both printers 6 hours of work and nothing. HP support is useless. If I reset the PC I lose a ton of programs and I'm leery of what might happen during reinstallation. Any ideas?

"The solution ended up being very easy compared to all of the other solutions out there, my advice is don't waste you time on those before you try this.

After trying many of the things mentioned above and of course uninstalling and reinstalling complete driver package, the solution for me after was to go to Printer Properties, Advanced, New Driver go through
the wizard and choose HP and then Officejet Pro 8600 Class. I think the problem is the driver that HP is providing for the Officejet Pro 8610 -- it just doesn't work with Windows 10. After changing to the Officejet Pro 8600 Class printing started working.
Didn't try scanning because user didn't need it."

Hey man, I really appreciate you taking the time to lay out what worked for you. I just spent a few hours trying to figure out why I was having the same problem as many out there with an HP officejet 8610 and Windows 10. Strange thing is I bought a new
surface 4 a few weeks ago and was able to set it up with the HP. Then I accidentally shutdown the surface pro before it was down printing something (pretty dumb I know) and that started a long headache of trying to get my HP to print using wireless.

Your suggestion was the first one that actually worked.

Don't know if I'm going to be having this problem all over again at some point but at least I'm printing now...much appreciated.

Strange thing is that when I look at the printer properties, it says the Driver is the 8610, not the 8600 Class that I chose.

HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 Not Working on Windows 10

My HP Office Jet Pro 8610 worked fine with Windows 10 until HP forced me to update my Printer. After the recent update it would no longer print giving me the message that the driver was unavailable. I solved the problem by removing the printer from my
device and manually installing through TCP\IP using the printer's IP address. This gave me the option on the list of printers to update the printer list. When I updated the list, this 8610 no longer existed on the list. I chose the HP Office Jet Pro 8000
A809 Series and it worked like a charm! Good Luck.

 

HP Officejet 8610 network connection failure after Windows 10 update

A windows 10 update arrived this afternoon, and I updated.

After the Windows 10 update the network connection to my printer HP Officejet Pro 8610 broke. My PC reports that it is not connected, but the printer believes that it is connected to the network. Can't print.

I have a laptop running Windows 10 which has not been updated today, and with the same driver edition it connects to the printer and prints. So I believe the problem is specific to the recent update.

Any suggestions to reconnect the network printer following the update?
