Windows 10: HP Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP M680 series

Hi all,

I have been having a very weird issue with an HP Color LaserJet Enterprise MFP M680 series.
I'm unable to get the scan to network folder to work .
-I have a shared folder created on a server
-I set up scan to network on the folder, called a quickset and enter the FQDN as part of the UNC
Example: \\testserver.mydomain.local\scan
- I save the changes
-Go to the printer, login to it. I then select the quickset and its going to the share I created. The problem here is when I click the send button, it says invalid credential and or pin. I"m 100% sure I have typed in the password correct.
-I decide to create a shared folder with all appropriate permission on my desktop instead of the server and it works.

I started to research and states HP printers need SMB1.0 enabled. I noticed my workstation has it enabled and the server does not, I went ahead and disabled SMB1.0 on my workstation , rebooted and it still worked. I decided to crate a shared location on another server that has SMB1.0 enabled but it did not work.

At this point, I don't believe the issue has anything to do with SMB1.0
I checked the windows firewall and it allows file and printer sharing.
The printer is also using the newest version of the firmware (Released 2-5-2020)

A note to add, I have 3 other printers , exactly the same as this one in question. They all work in the same network, same procedure and all. The only difference is that those printers have firmware version that is many many years old.

At this point, I believe the issue is something in the server because it works on my workstation, but I can't figure it out. I don't know what it is.
It be great if someone can chime in. I would appreciate it.

Also, it is not a firewall issue. I don't believe it is, as the network I'm in does not pass through it.

I'm on Windows 10 Pro 1909
I tried the scan to network folder on various server OS 2008r2, 2012, 2016
This is a new printer, came with the new firmware.

I have the exact same problem in every way. Please note the M177fw is what I started out with. The driver update gave me the M177 PCLmS entries below. I now have the following printers in my computer, as a result of trying to download the drivers and software:
