Windows 10: HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw only prints single sided. Double-sided printing worked...

Worked as expected before Windows update. The original problem was on an HP Envy PC, worked on HP and Acer Laptops and Acer Netbook, so not a printer problem. After the Windows update in March no longer prints double-sided. All diagnostics report no problem. I have reimaged my PC using an old recovery disc but cannot stop Windows from updating to the latest version. How do I go back to a previous version of Windows? Has anyone else seen this problem?

HP Color LaserJet MFP M281fdw stopped working

I was printing on my HP Color LaserJet MFP M281fdw when it stopped. I got an error message that said the toner levels were not communicating with the computer. The toners are nearly full to I re-seated them but I still get the messages. What could be wrong.

 

Printing problem with HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw

I have the exact same problem in every way. Please note the M177fw is what I started out with. The driver update gave me the M177 PCLmS entries below. I now have the following printers in my computer, as a result of trying to download the drivers and software:

separate "devices" for single-sided and double-sided printing?

Is there a way to have separate "devices" for a printer that can do single-sided or double-sided printing?

I have an HP 401dn laser printer which does double-sided printing very nicely. MS Office has print dialogs that allow me to choose double-sided printing, but almost every other program does not. So I'm forced to select Printer Properties and select double-sided printing.
