Windows 10: HP ENVY 4520 stopped duplex printing

So out of the blue my printer will only let me print on both sides manually, The duplex printing option keeps to reverted to 'not installed', even though I keep on clicking on automatic updates. It updates instantly which allows me to click the duplexing on and I apply the instruction, but when I try to print on both sides, it tells me to do it manually, and will only print on one side. I have spent over 7 hours on this today.

Automatic duplex printing no longer available on my HP Envy

Hi, hope someone can help.

Overnight, my printer has stopped doing automatic duplex printing on PDF documents. It is an HP Envy 4520.

I have not made any changes to hardware or software/or done any upgrades etc. I use Windows 10. I have tried to update the device driver but it is up to date.

I have tried using the HP smart app as seen on another thread but it still requires me to manually move the paper to print the second side.

Under printer properties it says double sided but if I look under device settings it now says 'not installed' next to 'automatic duplexing unit.

I have not had this problem previously, and it was doing automatic double sided printing 2 days ago!

Any suggestions?

My HP Envy 4520 stopped printing in color. Everything prints in grayscale / monochrome. I've checked all the instructions on HP support and on Windows support, as far as I can tell. I've also changed the cartridge (using the right brand always), run troubleshooter,
checked preferences etc, and from everything I'm seeing it appears the docs should be printing in color. They're just not. What else can I do?? Thanks in advance for your help.
