Windows 10: HP Envy won't load videos or play audio unless connected to a wireless display

HP Envy 15M-EE0023DX. Windows 10 Home version 1909.

This all started yesterday after I applied a windows update. If I try to play a Youtube video on Google Chrome or on Microsoft Edge I get an endless cycle of loading. When I connect to my TV the videos load up right away and play the sound out of the soundbar. When I switch that audio back to the computer, nada. If I try to use Discord for voice chat I can't hear anything and my microphone doesn't work. When I try to use the camera app I get error code 0xA00F4244 which is No Cameras Are Attached. Other than the update, I haven't downloaded anything other than a couple games (Civ V, Minecraft, and Technic launcher) and the apps for Discord and Spotify. I'm using Webroot for anti-virus.

I don't even know where to begin trying to solve this. I'm guessing trying to update the drivers? Considering that I haven't had this computer very long, I'm really almost ready to salt the earth and just factory reset this thing.

HP ENVY Notebook - m7-n101dx Can't Connect to Wireless Display

Product Name: HP ENVY Notebook - m7-n101dx

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP ENVY Notebook - m7-n101dx can't connect to wireless display (Samsung TV). I've probed the forums and couldn't find any solutions.

Update: I am now able to connect to the TV long enough to see a duplicate image of my desktop but only to lose it less than a second later.

Update: Bluetooth connection is also spotty. Audio is stuttering. Perhaps they're related.

For the issue with Sound try the below steps and check if this helps in resolving the issue.

Let’s try simple methods and check if this helps in resolving the issue. Follow the below steps.

Method 1.

I would suggest you to run sound audio troubleshooter, it will automatically detect the problem and fix it. Follow the below method.

• 
  Press Windows key + R and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on View by: category and click on
  Small icon.
  
• 
  Now click on troubleshooting and click on
  Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Click on Playing Audio and Click on
  Next button.
  

If the issue still persist, try the below method:

Method 2.

Step 1.

I suggest you to uninstall the sound driver and check.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• 
  Now click on Audio input and outputs to expand, right click on the device and click on
  uninstall.
  
• 
  Once you are done uninstalling the restart the computer. If should automatically installed the driver.
  
  If the still persist, try the below steps.
  

Step 2.

I suggest you to update the audio driver and check.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device manager.
  
• Now click on Audio input and outputs and right click on it and
  update the software.

If the above methods did not help to fix the issue, try the below method.

Method 3.

I recommend you to go to the computer manufacturer website and download the latest updated sound adapter for Windows 10 and install the same. If the available driver is not for Windows 10 try installing the driver in compatibility mode.

  Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.
  
• 
  Select Compatibility tab.
  
• 
  Check Run this program in Compatibility mode.
  
• 
  Let the driver install and then check the functionality.
  

For the issue with Netflix, I recommend you to uninstall and re/install the Netflix and check.

  Go to settings and click on system.
  
• 
  Click on App & features and click on the Netflix and
  uninstall it.

Hp laptop screen won’t display except occasionally

I would like to note that step 20 comes up with no files. Perhaps this could be the source of the issues?
