Windows 10: HP ENVY x360 2-in-1 Laptop 13-bf0xxx Camera Issue

I have "HP ENVY x360 2-in-1 Laptop 13-bf0xxx" and all of a sudden, my camera stopped working. It doesn't work on its app or when it needs to do facial recognition to unlock but when I tried webcam test page it was working completely fine over there. It was like nothing had happened. I tried things given on the Microsoft support page and I am still stuck with this.1st Error Message:2nd Error Message following immediately after the 1st:

We understand the concern as you are unable to find the Webcam and microphone driver in Device Manager. In order to get clarity and to assist you accordingly, please reply with the answers to the questions below:

What is the Version and Build of Windows 10 installed on the PC? (Type
winver in Windows search/Run command)

What happens when you open the Camera app?

Are you not able to see the webcam driver under Imaging devices?

Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?

As per the Product Specifications, Webcam is available in this model:

HP unveils Spectre x360 14, expands Spectre and ENVY line-up

The new HP Spectre x360 14 delivers the advantages of a 15-inch device in a 13.5-inch form factor for browsing, reading, editing and viewing – and is also the latest addition to HP’s sustainable PC portfolio. HP also announced an expanded 11th Gen Intel Core Processor Spectre and ENVY line up, packed with performance gains and increased battery life.

As the first Spectre with a 3:2 aspect ratio display, the Spectre x360 14 offers roughly 20% more vertical viewing space than a 16:9 ratio [1]. To minimize exposure to harmful blue light, the OLED panel shifts the display spectrum to reduce the blue light, but color still comes through vividly.

Other perks of this device: intelligent features and software capabilities that adapt to a user based on the activities and apps being used at a given time. These include AI Noise Removal [2] with Intel GNA 2.0 for intelligent adaptive noise cancellation, to mute any background noise automatically across Microsoft Teams meetings, calls and audio outputs and inputs (speakers, headphones and the mic). To avoid overheating or battery drain when the laptop is in a bag, you can quickly manage power with hot key access to Power Saver mode. Focus mode dims background apps not in use while keeping the app currently being used bright. This also helps battery life by dimming parts of the screen that are not in use.

HP Spectre x360 14

The natural, renewable materials in the device’s keyboard scissors cut the equivalent of 1,300 pounds of coal being burned in CO2 emissions over the lifetime of the device [3]. The device is Energy Star and EPEAT Gold certified, making the Spectre x360 14 the latest addition to HP’s most sustainable PC portfolio [4], which has more than 100 Gold EPEAT-registered products in more than 19 countries. The packaging also uses biodegradable molded fiber instead of plastic foam.

Co-engineered with Intel, the Spectre x360 14 has been tested, tuned and verified to meet the requirements of the Intel Evo platform [5], ensuring it meets Intel’s hardware specifications and key experience targets for responsiveness, instant wake, battery life and fast charge. It comes with the latest 11th Gen Intel Core processor that delivers a 34% performance improvement and 79% performance gains with discrete-level integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics versus last year’s Spectre x360 13.

This is the first Spectre with an all-in-one keyboard that includes a power button, new camera shutter button, HP Command Center, mute mic and a fingerprint reader.

The HP Spectre x360 14 is expected to be available later this month via HP.com for a starting price of $1,199.99. Also look for it at Best Buy and BestBuy.com in November.

Select HP Spectre and ENVY notebooks are also available this fall. They’ve been updated with 11th Gen Intel Core processors, Intel Iris X e graphics and Intel Evo platform verification.

HP Spectre x360 13

The HP Spectre x360 13 delivers a 35% CPU performance improvement versus the previous generation to tackle demanding tasks like photo editing or 3D creation, with up to 16.5 hours of battery life. It is expected to be available in October via HP.com for a starting price of $1,199.99. Also look for it at Best Buy and BestBuy.com in November.

HP ENVY x360 13

The HP ENVY x360 13 is a good fit for creators working from home, with HP MPP2.0 Tilt Pen support, up to 12.75 hours of battery life and privacy features such as a camera shutter, fingerprint reader, mute mic and the HP Sure View button built into the all-in-one keyboard. It is expected to be available in November via HP.com for a starting price of $949.99. The device is available now at BestBuy.com.

HP ENVY 13

The HP ENVY 13 features an 88% screen-to-body ratio, up to 13 hours of battery life, up to 4K UHD display, fast signaling data speeds and 5K display output with Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity. It is expected to be available later this month via HP.com with a starting price of $899.99.

In early 2021, the HP Spectre x360 13 with 5G is expected to be available via HP.com. It will have up to four times faster download speeds and up to 2.8 times better coverage with HP Dynamic Range.

HP ENVY x360 Touchscreen and Driver issues

Hi Milad,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

I appreciate the efforts taken by you in troubleshooting this issue. The details provided helps us to avoid repeating the steps.

This issue can occur if some of the system files and drivers are not working as expected.

Suggest you to refer and follow the steps from this article on ‘Troubleshooting Touch Screen issues’.

Important: Your screen resolution needs to be at least 1024 x 768 to have multiple windows and apps on your screen at the same time.

Follow these steps to uninstall the driver from the PC.

Open Device Manager.

Select the arrow next to Human Interface Devices and select HID-compliant touch screen.

Right-click (or tap and hold) the name of the device, and select Uninstall.

Restart your PC, and Windows will attempt to reinstall the driver.

You may also want to
download the drivers from the OEM HP website and install it to check if that helps.
