Windows 10: Hp laptop is locking with cursor alone moving what to do

I purchased the Hewlett Packard Compaq laptop around 10 years ago. Now when I switch on it asks for the password and then the screen locks up. What do I do

I have read quite a few other threads about stuck cursors, none of which have helped. When I turn my computer on, whether normally or safe mode I am unable to move the cursor to log in. A lot of threads suggest downloading software or trying various websites.
None of that can be performed if I can't log in.

Are there any suggestions which will get the cursor to move so I can login. I have most of the files backed up, but there is one I was using for work earlier that I was working on when it froze. I'd like to be able to get it back and use the laptop as before.

 

Why there are two mouse cursors on hp laptop screen? One cursor is in the top center and one keeps blinking when you move it.

Two days ago as I was using my hp laptop, all of a sudden I see two mouse cursors. One cursor stays in the top center of the screen in a round faded circle shape, while the other cursor moves when I moved the mouse, but it keeps blinking as I move the mouse. I tried restarting every other time when I change the mouse settings, I deleted most of the apps thinking it might be that. I don't know what else to do. Most of the times when I tried to send a message, the enter button wouldn't work and the mouse would not work either. So I have to keep closing and reopen new browsers when I want to send a message on my email or sending my assignments online. This is frustrating and overwhelming. I tried every way on the internet but it seems unsuccessful and lots of failures. What should I do, or please need suggestions. I recently change a new hard river for my laptop and I'm surprised by this. Everything on the computer looks good except for the mouse cursor.

 

Laptop cursor moves but will not click on anything

Hi. My laptop cursor suddenly doesn’t click on anything as it should. It moves perfectly as usual but will not click on anything in the laptop menu or on pictures etc- anything. Also, when I move the cursor it draws a kind of box shape the size of which changes depending upon how far I move the cursor. Can anyone here help? Thank you.
