Windows 10: HP laptop speakers are crackling after Windows 11 update

Hello Community,I had a new hard drive installed, Windows 11 reinstalled, and other software installed. However, the speakers are not crackling, and the Best Buy Geek Squad can't fix the problem. I purchased an external speaker, but it does not have a microphone learned that the hard way. My speakers were fine until the new hard drive was installed.Any suggestions.Take Care,Anita

Hi community,

I'm facing a frustrating issue with my HP Pavilion Gaming Edition laptop running Windows 11. Whenever I play audio on my laptop, I hear crackling noises from the speakers. It's extremely annoying and I've tried everything I could think of to fix it. Even after purchasing external speakers, the issue persists.

The interesting thing is, when I switch to Ubuntu or any other Linux distro, the speakers work perfectly fine. I'm not sure what's causing this problem on Windows 11. I've updated all the drivers and checked for any conflicts, but nothing seems to work.

I'm hoping someone in the community has experienced a similar issue and has found a solution. I'd be grateful for any suggestions on how to fix this issue. Also, please let me know if you need any more information about my system or setup.

Speakers giving crackling sound

I have a hp laptop with latest version of windows 11. Whenever I open a game and start playing it, in a matter of minutes the speakers start giving out a crackling sound. Then I open the hp support assistant and it fixes the audio issues by reseting the speaker drivers. But after some time the speakers start giving out the same crackling sound again. All my drivers are up to date and the crackling sound comes out only when I play games. While listening to music, playing videos the speakers work fine.

 

Laptop speaker crackling noise problem

My laptop has developed a very annoying crackling noise in the right speaker as of late. I started noticing it as I was listening to some music on it, and then it gradually got worse and worse to the point that I couldn't bear it any more. I do not get this problem when I wear headphones, it's just the right speaker acting up. The laptop is new (less than two months old) and still under warranty. At the moment I have turned the speaker off and I am only running off the left one when not using headphones. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. Also, I don't think it's driver related because the left speaker works flawlessly and I don't get the same annoying crackling sounds when using headphones.
