Windows 10: HP Laptop wireless adapter.

I worked will Microsoft and downloaded the most recent network files from HP and my Laptop tells me there is no wireless unit found this happened suddenly all I can think left to do is replace the network adapter do you agree ?

No wireless adapter - I'm beat!

I come home and my lazy sister who's home for winter break tells me that her wireless wasn't working since this morning, when she initially turned her HP TX1420US laptop on. It worked fine last night, so she says. For some odd reason, Windows does not detect a wireless adapter. I downloaded the appropriate drivers on another computer and tried installing them on her laptop, but it didn't change things. I finally decided to just give her my Asus USB wireless N adapter, and in the process of installing the USB adapter, her wireless suddenly started working, the wireless indicator light on the laptop turned blue and a popup on the screen said HP WAN ON. I wanted to confirm it was her laptop's internal adapter and not my USB adapter, so I pulled the USB adapter (whilst it was still installing) and I was able to surf the web. I restarted the computer, and it failed to detect the adapter again.

After playing around in Windows Mobility Center, I managed to somehow disable wireless internet altogether so that even the USB adapter doesn't work.

I swapped her wireless card with a wireless card on a Compaq laptop I had, and the card did not work in the Compaq laptop. I failed to verify whether or not the Compaq adapter worked on the HP laptop though, because Windows could not find drivers and I did not bother to download proper drivers via the web. Regardless, I don't think that matters given all the unusualness that the laptop is exhibiting.

Does anybody have any suggestions? I've tried all the usual stuff like system restoring, system restoring via safe mode, checking for hardware changes via device manager, restarting the computer, replugging the adapter, and installing updated drivers off HP's website. Had the card not worked for a minute (before I restarted it in which it failed to work after), I would have assumed that the card crapped out.

Method 1:

Step 1: Update network adapter driver from the device manager by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• Press Windows key + X keys on the keyboard and click on
  Device Manager from the options.
• Expand the Network adapters from the options.
• Right click on the wireless network card and select Update option.
• Restart the computer and check if the changes are effective.

Step 2: If the issue persist, I suggest you to uninstall the network adapter driver from the device manager by following the steps below and check if the issue is resolved.

• Press Windows key + X keys on the keyboard and click on
  Device Manager from the options.
• Expand the Network adapters from the options.
• Right click on the wireless network card and select Uninstall.
• Restart the computer for automatic installation of network adapters and check if the changes are effective.
