Windows 10: HP Laptop with windows 10 doesnt support external 802.11ac Wifi adapter

HP laptop 14q-cy0006 doesnt support 5 Ghz as it isnt a dual radio and support only 2.4 Ghz. I bought a USB TP-link AC600 that supports both 2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz. But the speed of 5 Ghz is still around 30 Mbps while the same Wifi adapter used on another laptop was able to get me over 100Mbps speed. I found that the protocol used in 5 Ghz in the first laptop was 802.11a whereas in the second laptop by default it was using 802.11ac. Please bear in mind that the second laptop had dual Wifi radio but I used it to test the TP-link Wifi adapter. Can anyone let me know how can I set the protocol to 802.11ac.

HP Probook 650 G2 wifi problem

Hello everyone,

I got a HP Probook 650 G2 laptop but can't get wifi working. Wired connection works good. There's no wifi adapter in Device Manager. Wifi button in the upper right corner is in orange. When i press it, the only thing it does is turning airplane mode on/off. Downloaded and installed all newest official drivers from HP website, ran HP Support Assistant software utility, updated BIOS, looked in there for any clue of wlan/wifi etc... nothing. External wifi antenna with Atheros drivers works fine. Can someone help me to get internal wifi adapter working? How else can i check if it's connected to PC properly without disassembling laptop? Thanks in advance.

Unable to connect WiFi with Broadcom 802.11ac adapter.

Platform: Windows 10 Pro (to Go) on MacBook Pro 2017 15” touchbar.

Issue: Once driver are installed, Windows can detect the hotspots but it is unable to connect to any of them.

Adapter: Broadcom Wireless 802.11ac adapter.

Internet works fine on the macOS side.

Windows is able to connect if using a WiFi usb adapter.

(Please do not tell me to ask Apple since I already did, with no success, and the problem seems not to be from the Apple side.)
