Windows 10: HP Office Jet 3830

Is it just me or do Windows updates cause problems with HP Office Jet 3830 printers. I spent 4-5 hours yesterday with a Tech I believe re-installing Windows 10 to get the printer to work - today it is the same and I have now wasted another 40 minutes waiting for a Person to talk with me after spending time with the Virtual Agent. Can this really be happening with two leading tech companies HP/Micro involved??

Please try the steps recommended below to uninstall printer software

Press Windows key + X, click Apps & Features or Programs and Features

Select your HP printer.

Select Uninstall.

Press Windows key + R, type control, hit Enter

Open Devices and Printers.

In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

Click on Drivers tab.

Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.

Select OK.

Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

Close Devices and Printers.

Proceed to reinstall the driver.

We are volunteers willing to help you try to resolve this issue.

We do not have that printer though here is what I would do if I had the problem.

Check with HP Support, their on-line documentation and drivers, and ask in their forums (be sure to do this).

There probably is a setting on the printer though it can also be in their control software/drivers. Docs and Forums would be my 1st choices.
