  1. HP Pavilion Laptop audio fading but the volume stays cnostant

Hello everybody, I'm the owner of a HP Pavilion 15 cw-1xxx series. I noticed a few days ago that the sound of the speakers fades. I'll try to explain the best I can (not a native speaker):

I put the volume at 40%, start some audio and after a few seconds, the volume drops nearly silent (the 40%stays). If I pause, wait a second or two and play again, it starts at full volume and then drops again.

I tried: -searched updates from HP Support Assistant -uninstalling the device and reinstalling it -tried updating the drivers -the frequency selection is greyed out (16 bit, 48000Hz stuck) -no effects to disable

I don't know what else to do. I'm running Windows 10 Education version 2004 (build 19041.329)

    Any help would be appreciated!

  2. Add Fade Audio Effects In Video Clips.

    Hi Gustav,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

If you are using Microsoft Photos application to fade the audio, then there is no feature in Photos application to fade the audio; however, you can fade the audio by using Microsoft PowerPoint Application. Follow the below steps to fade the audio that you
    want using Microsoft Photos application.

Step 1: Click on the Start Menu and search for
Microsoft PowerPoint and hit Enter to launch
    PowerPoint
    application.

Step 2: Then, click on Insert > Audio > You can add the audio file as well as directly record an audio file.

Step 3: Click on the Audio and click on
    Playback
    tab beside to Format tab.

Step 4: Then, you will see the Fade In and
    Fade Out
    options.

Fade In: Adds a timed fade effect at the beginning of the audio clip. Within the Fade In box, directly enter the exact number of seconds you want the clip to fade in.

Fade Out: Adds a timed fade effect at the end of the audio clip. Within the Fade Out box, directly enter the exact number of seconds you want the clip to fade out.

The option for fading the audio in Photos Application is a great idea, so I suggest you to post your feedback for the same in

    Feedback Hub
    .

    Hope it helps.

  3. Windows 10 audio fades out

I'm having an issue with Windows 10 audio: when listening to something/watching a movie the audio automatically fades out and drops to a lower volume. To be clear, the volume indication in Windows doesn't change, i.e. if it was set to 50 at the beginning it'll remain fixed at 50, but it can be heard drastically decreasing.

If the source is paused and then played back again, the sound will begin playing at the higher volume to fade out again a few seconds later.

Things I've tried so far - suggested by the many post I read about:

    • Uninstalling/reinstalling both NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device WDM and Realtek drivers
    • Using only one driver at a time
    • Installing older driver versions
    • Installing the driver in compatibility (W8) mode
    • Reinstalling the drivers from the PC manufacturer (Dell)

None of these worked. Needless to say, it's very frustrating. I must keep the speakers turned off, otherwise notifications will blast out at 100dB unexpectedly whilst listening to music for more than 5 secs will turn the sound into a whisper.

If someone knows of a solution or had this issue before, I'd be so glad to hear about it.

    Thanks

HP Pavilion Laptop audio fading but the volume stays cnostant

Volume from speakers on HP laptop too low. Pavilion G7 1260us

I went through as many of these as I could. I do not find any way to determine replacement drivers. The HP page doesn't list them and gives only the Microsoft option by downloads from Win10.

I did update to 1903, which takes a while and has some other downloads that also need to be updated. I see the difference in terminology for some places in Win10 is like what you used now that I have Win 10 1903 in place, and working just fine. I can't tell
    any improvement in volume.

I will live with what I now have.

This computer started with Win 7 based on the sticker on it. I recall helping my friend by phone go ahead and upgrade to Win 8 that was automatic after she accepted it. I had her decline 8.1. Then I received the computer after a printer conflict kept it
from working with a printer at their vacation home in upstate SC.

The Pavilion g7 has a device manager item for Intel Display Audio with a driver from 2010 besides the High Definition Audio Device with a driver from Sept 2019. I did delete each of those before the 1903 upgrade and let Win 10 reinstall. The High Definition
device came back with the same driver. The Intel Display Audio because a second High Definition Audio Device with the 2019 driver.

I will live with what I now have, and I'm shopping through the newer HP laptop with features from HP's website rather than shopping what's in the retail stores. I may add another laptop. I have my wife's HP, my Pavilion, along with my HP my son has for his
    travel related to work.
