    I have the classic problem of my windows pavilion [8th gen i5] failing to boot. The fan turns on, the led lights indicating an activated PC are on, and even the orange light indicating a working charger are on. Only, the screen itself remains dark blue. For starters, I have no removable battery, so I could not try the maneuvers involving removing the battery, memory/other cartridges, etc.I tried a few maneuvers involving holding the power button for a reset, but those failed too.I tried recovering the BIOS by holding the windows key and B key. But that failed too. The screen loaded, the update

    I would like to note that step 20 comes up with no files. Perhaps this could be the source of the issues?

    Can't update the HP Pavilion Notebook.

    I'm trying to update my system and am getting a message to delete HP Pavilion Notebook - BIOS manually as it is incompatible with the upgrade.

    I can't find it to delete it. It's not in the Programs list with the other HP apps.

    Any suggestions?
