Windows 10: HP Photosmart Software

Hello Microsoft Community,


I Have a HP Envy m6 1117TX Laptop with Intel core i7-3632QM 2.20GHZ bought 2012

8GB Ram, 750GB HDD, AMD Radeon HD 7670 Graphics card

Currently running Windows 10-1903-18362-? 64 bit not sure of last numbers as I updated today

Printer is a HP Photosmart C5380 All-in-One bought 2012 still works well.


Couple of months ago I had a issue with computer and had to reinstall Windows which removed most of my of programs.

I have managed to reinstall most of my programs with the exception of the original HP Photosmart C5300 series program as I need it to print on printable DVD Discs which my printer used to do.

I have tried several free disc printing software, but none was as good as the HP one.

I also tried searching the internet for an answer to my problem and found out that HP have discontinued the Photosmart program.

Although is seems you can download versions of HP program but my problem is that Windows will not recognise the HP Bing Bar required to operate the program.

I have tried to find a resolution to fix my problem but I am 70 y's old and not a tech savvy with programs.

The reason I would like to get the HP programme is that it worked before and I need it to print my home DVD printable discs.


Can anyone please help? I know by the amount of threads on this subject it has probably been answered, but I cant find it.

Please answer these questions for us-

- Were you able to use HP Photosmart Essentials earlier?

- Was there any changes made to the PC prior to this issue?

Please try these steps and let us know:

1. Open Settings and navigate to Apps>> Apps and Features and click on HP Photosmart Essentials and select the option to Repair.
   
2. If you are unable to find the application in Apps and features, please download the HP Photosmart from HP website. This is the
   
   link to download HP Photosmart Essentials.

HP Photosmart 7520

Since updating to Windows 10 I cant connect wirelessly to my HP Photosmart 7520. Any suggestions

 

Print Assistant Software - HP Photosmart 5520

Hi Steven,

To assist you better please provide us few information,

      Are you facing issue only with this Application?
      
    • 
      Did you installed latest driver for printer?
      
    • 
      Did you get any specific error code when you try to open app?
      

HP Print Assistant software comes with the printer. You have to install Full Feature Software and Drivers for your printer on your computer.

I suggest you to install the printer driver from the printer manufacturer and check. Please refer the below link,

If the issue still persist, Perform clean boot and check if it resolves the issue.

Clean boot

Place the Computer in a clean boot state and find out the service/application that might be causing this issue. You may refer to the following link to find out how you can determine the service that is causing this issue:

Note: Once you're done with clean boot, follow How to reset the computer to start as usual to reset your computer to the normal startup.

For work around, create a new user account and check if you are still facing the same issue. This is to check if the user account is corrupted.
