    HP Plotter spooler problems


    After the latest update all the older HP Designjet plotters no longer function. It appears to be a spooler problem with the update. I have deleted/un-installed drivers, stopped and started the spooler and nothing happens. This appears to be a MAJOR problem as I have had numerous calls from across the country with the same problem. Any ideas ... MIcrosoft, what have you done again ???

    Print Spooler needs to be restarted when printing from Adobe to HP Plotter printer

    Hi,

    I am having an odd issue where if I print from Adobe to an HP Plotter printer (when using Print Preview) the print spooler gets stuck.

    I open a PDF document and go to print dialog page. From there I click on properties and check the box that says show print preview.

    Once I print the print preview never comes up and the document never prints.

    I look at the queue for the printer and the document is stuck.

    The only way to clear is to stop print spooler, clear queue, and restart print spooler

    I used another local admin profile on the PC and it has the same issue.

    Adobe Acrobat DC is being used (Version 19.010.20098)

    The HP Plotter is an HP DesignJet T770.

    driver for HP designjet 1050c plotter

    I have purchased a used HP designjet 1050c plotter and I cant get hold of a printer driver. I download one from the HP site as an .exe file but all it did was extract several file, none of which installed the driver. Can anyone help please

    "Windows cannot connect to the printer. Local print spooler service is not running. Please restart the spooler or restart the machine."

    I have already done everything listed in your reply. I have an Epson printer, instead of an HP as in your reply, but I have done the same steps. I have also done everything listed in the "Fix printer connection and printing problems in Windows 10" article
    at the website you suggested. This did not remedy the problem.

    The print spooler problem I described is affecting not only hard copy printing on my physical Epson printer but also digital printing to a PDF using Nuance Power PDF.

    So, I'm still searching for a solution.
