Hi,

I recently had to reinstall Windows 10 on my HP ProBook 450 G2, because I had problems with the OS. Before I reinstalled it, the Windows Hello function was working perfectly with the build-in fingerprint scanner after I installed a driver provided by Lenovo.
But since I reinstalled Win 10, Windows isn't able to find a suitable driver anymore. I tried the same method like before, but it just won't work properly. Even the HP Client Security software says that the fingerprint scanner isn't connected. I searched many
forums for an answer and it seems like I'm not alone with this problem.



It would be great if someone can help me making the Windows Hello feature work again because I slowly start to get desperate.

Thank you for the update.

Have you tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling the Fingerprint driver?

Just to verify, please refer to the following link, choose Windows 10 (64-bit) as the operating system and expand the node
Driver - Keyboard, Mouse an Input Devices. Download and install the Synaptics (Validity) Fingerprint Sensor Driver and check if the issue persists.

Windows Hello Fingerprint, We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with Windows Hello Fingerprint

I am using HP probook 455 g7 and after this update "Cumulative Update 2023-01 for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64 Based Systems (KB5022303)" my fingerprint scanner stopped working and when I go into settings it says "We couldn't find a fingerprint scanner compatible with Windows Hello Fingerprint". what should i do please help
