Windows 10: HP reboot not rebooting

    My work laptop is unable to reboot a message came on to say 'Your PC did not start correctly' then tells me to press restart, I did then a blue screen tells me there was trouble restating then it goes into Auto repairing then diagnosing and back to blue screen with options of restart or advance options I go into trouble shoot and try to reset PC then a message came on to say There was a problem resetting your PC. No changes were made. Now I have a PC that cannot start-up. I have been trying most of the options even the start-up repair that didn't work a message came on Log file: C;\WINDOWES\

    Try turning off automatic restart on system failure and see if it is giving a blue-screen before it reboots. That might at least give you an error message or code so you can start your troubleshooting from there. Otherwise it is just a shot in the dark. It could be bad RAM, bad HDD, bad ODD, a bad cable somewhere, PSU dying, motherboard dying, a software issue and the list goes on...

    I don't think he ever said it reboots during the boot process. It just randomly reboots while the computer is running.

    • Have you checked if the hard disk is set as first boot device in the BIOS?
    • Which version of Windows is installed on the computer?
    • What did the HP supported suggested you to fix the issue?
