Windows 10: HP Stream with failed windows 10 update won’t boot up

Hi there


After spending 1.5 hours with a HP rep they’ve recommended that i speak to you! After running an update via my external hard drive i am getting a black screen in safe mode asking me to reconnect the drive and it says “unlocking changes made to the pc”


HP has checked my bios and most other things but have offered me a windows recovery patch for £35 whilst under warranty!!

absolutely ridiculous that im being given updates sent to by microsoft for a machine which is 32gb and used for my sons school work. He is now unable to use can you help? Without implicating my financially!

• Have you installed all pending Windows and driver updates?
• Did you make any changes to your computer prior to this issue?

Hp laptop screen won’t display except occasionally

I would like to note that step 20 comes up with no files. Perhaps this could be the source of the issues?

 

Windows 10 fails to update


When you finish testing the Avast suggestion, make sure that you restart your machine.

Then if the issue persists, please return to the trouble shooting list in post# 89

I think there are three steps that remain; the WU troubleshooter, reset WU components, and manual WU reset.
