Windows 10: HP USB-C Dock G5 not Detecting Monitors

I have a new HP USB-C Dock G5 docking station that I connected to my HP 15-fd0107dx laptop. All connections appear to be working, however, it is not recognizing the monitors. Please assist/advise when you have a moment.

Issues detecting external monitors with HP Docking Station on windows 11 Laptop

Hi all,

I have a HP monitor (HP E24u G4 FHD USB-C ) and a HP laptop (HP Elitebook 830 G8) that runs on Windows 11. Both my laptop and monitor work perfectly when connected to each other.

I have just bought a HP USB-C/A Universal Dock G2. When I connect my HP monitor to my HP docking station, it is not detected. The keyboard and mouse (both non-HP products) are detected. I have updated the drivers but it's still not working.

I'm getting this message when I connect my docking station "display connection might be limited".

Can someone help? This is the 2nd docking station I try (I tried to the Wavlink docking station) and none of them work on my laptop. This is really frustrating!

USB-C not detecting displays on Windows 11

I cannot connect my HP Pavillion 15t-eg100 to two external monitors. I am using a lenovo docking station and two lenovo ThinkVision T24i-30 monitors.

I have two monitors, a keyboard, and a mouse plugged into a docking station. When I plug the docking station into my laptop via USB-C, the keyboard and mouse work just fine but the monitors do not. All accessories work when connected to another laptop (which is running Windows 10). I know this is not an issue related to cables because I can swap between laptops and the screens are instantly detected. It is worth noting that the USB docking station is also actively charging my computer, so it should be capable of sending video unless I misunderstand.

Here are the steps I have already taken:

• Rescan to detect monitors several times
  
• Check all cable connections/power
  
• Update all my drivers
  
• Check for software updates and restart my computer
  
• Install Thunderbolt Control Center to attempt to detect displays
  
• Install Lenovo Accessories and Display Manager to attempt to detect displays
  

 

USB-C monitors connected to Dock doesn't work at login screen

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad T14 (AMD) and a Lenovo Thinkpad USB-C / Thunderbolt dock.

The laptop ONLY has USB-C , NOT Thunderbolt.

My issue is that the 2 monitors connected to the dock are not detected if i connect the dock before logging into Windows 10

eg:

1. Computer is hibernated or sleeping

2. I Connect the USB-C dock

3. I turn on the computer

The computer starts up and the login screen is presented, but the monitors are not working.

I then login to Windows but the monitors are STILL NOT found.

I then need to unplug the USB-C cable and plug it in again.

NOW the monitors will get detected and start working.

this is driving me nuts, because i kind of expect that the monitors are working regardless of WHEN i plug in the USB-C
