Windows 10: hp windows laptop not turning on?

i was on my computer last night and it suddenly shut off on its own? when i try to turn it on the screen lights up, the fan turns on, the power button lights up and even caps lock can light up if i turn it on, but the screen is still black. once i got a bios screen but it said something along the lines of ¨boot could not be found¨ and it had an f2 key but whenever i clicked on anything it brought me to a menu that said ¨run memory test¨ and a few other things that i cant remember it also had a select language option and an exit option that didnt even work. a few websites online said to remove the battery but my laptop does not have a removable battery.


i would really appreciate it if i could get help with this, im taking school online and its hard to get my work done without my laptop.

This is a frequent problem am sure as you have already seen from online searches.

Flea power is usually the culprit here, basically its residual power that remains on the computer even after thecomputer has been shutdown. You can drain the flea power with the steps the other answers have suggested.

• Disconnecting the battery and adapter
• Press the hardpress the power button for 30 seconds
• This should clear the flea power

There are many reasons for your problem, but you may try this step :-

• Disconnect the AC adapter and remove the battery.
  
• Hold down the power button for at least fifteen seconds.
• Without replacing the battery, plug the AC adapter back into the laptop.
  
• Press the power button to turn on your laptop

If the PC is able to boot & startup, the problem is with your battery, if not contact a service centre.

 

Laptop will not boot at all, not even from DVD


Hi, this is read from an HP forum, not ASUS- I've no idea if it applies.. but you can try it!
Here are the steps:

1. Turn off the computer.
2. Hold down the windows key + b and power on the laptop without letting go.
3. Here's the magic: while holding down windows key + b, then press F2.
4. The laptop will enter BIOS recovery mode, and you should be all set from there.
