Discus and support HTML and CSS files are being labelled as "file" under type, I don't understand why it's not... in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I'm working on a website and I can't seem to preview my code.     HTML and CSS files are being labelled as "file" under type, I don't understand why it's not...


    I'm working on a website and I can't seem to preview my code. It took me a while to realize, but none of my files are saving as HTML or CSS files, but instead just as "File". In case that's not a good description, under "Type" in the file explorer, it's just saying File. I've never had this issue before, I don't have a clue what's wrong. I've tried to fix it through my code editors, both Notepad++ and Brackets, but nothing seems to be working.     Html or css pages!!!!

    I don't fully understand your question. Are you looking for a list of web sites that use CSS vs HTML? CSS can significantly reduce code clutter and the overall size of web sites containing many files.

    unable to access css files

    I am a user of win 10 home. i code in HTML and CSS. One day i right clicked a CSS file and in the open with option clicked open with notepad but by mistake i forgot to uncheck the dialog box stating"Always use this program to open CSS files" and now the
    basic logo for Css files has been replaced by this Notepad logo And also I am unable to use and link CSS files.Please help me!!

    File Type php Missing in Windows File Association Settings

    I would like to associate the php file format with a text editor utility such as Sublime Text. When I attempt to "always open file type with Sublime Text" via the context menu in Windows Explorer, it does not work. When I open Settings > Default Apps > Choose Default Apps by file type, the php file format appears to be missing from the list - see screenshot. I expected it to be listed below the .php3 file type.

    On a related note, I was also unable to associate the css and html file types with Sublime Text (or any other software) via Windows Explorer. I was able to work around this by using the FileTypesMan utility. However, the FileTypesMan utility is not able to associate php files either. Please advise. TIA.
