Windows 10: Huawei Modem not working in Win 10

HI there,

please please can somebody assist me. I will explain as detailed as possible what my problem is.
I am using a Lenovo think Centre M57 pc, I installed the new Windows 10 operating system and like it very much, however my Huawei E352 Modem is not working on this operating system but it works perfectly in Windows 7. In Windows 10 it is being picked up as a Memory Stick but not a modem and therefore I can not connect either to the internet. I presume it must be a driver of some sort? If so, where can i download this driver that is needed? Please guys, I really do need help here

I would like to inform you that Huawei E303H 3G USB Modem is
compatible with Windows 10.

I suggest you to install the driver software that came with the modem and check if it helps.

Please reply us on the status of the issue to assist you further.

 

There does not seem to be any drivers for that modem past Windows 7. You could try installing in compatibility mode.

Compatibility Mode - Use in Windows 8

I looked around and the support for that modem seems to be lacking. There really is no current driver for Win8, well I couldn't fine one. My next guess would be that it could be contained in a firmware update but I doubt that will fix anything.

You may just have to get a new modem that will support Win8.

Don't get your hopes up just yet ... I'm sure you can search as well as I can, but maybe, just maybe there's a nugget in this post.

A quick look at T-Mobile kind of points you in the right direction. I don't have an account, so I can't see all the details.

There shouldn't be any technical issue that I can think of, other than the driver(s) aren't loaded (hence you only see the mini SDcard). The difficulty is finding the way to install the driver(s) or getting Win10 to recognize them if they are in fact installed

--> please post a screen shot of Device Manager showing Network, Other Devices, or any devices with a problem

The fact that this might be a proprietary device (not sure if you're on T-Mobile) adds to the dilemma.
T-Mobile search doesn't find E352, but it does find Laptop sticks - go figure.

MBB or USB laptop stick is the best I could guess (given that the others are Jet and Rocket) - don't install the driver/firmware for a different device!

The crumbs I found led me to firmware and webConnect manager - but I could not dig any deeper.

I'm not sure if you want to experiment, but this looks like it might be support for your device from Huawei

Summary: All of the above are guesses (except for the request for Device Manager screen shot - that might help narrow things down).

Your best solution is to contact the provider support chanel and explain - although I'd just tell them that you're running Windows 8 ... they might punt if you tell them you're on Win10.

There doesn't seem to be anything on the mediafire links you posted - have you uploaded the files yet? I am not familiar with Mediafire but when I click on the link I can see the uploaded drivers. Can you suggest other sites where can I upload them?

 

You might just have to make the mediafire folder public - not sure how to do that either since I'm not mediafire savvy.

Depending on the size, you might be able to upload them here on TenForums (TF) - it's probably best if you put each one in a zipped folder. The TF upload dialog box tells you the file size limitations for various file types.

Yep, the zip file is there. I haven't looked inside, because it wouldn't do me much good (I don't have a Huawei device).

I think the best path dejager183 can take is to post the device manager screen shot for now. I have been able to get older USB 802.11 adapters to work by installing through Device manager - some devices needed a bit more coaxing (a different mfr'd device with the identical chip, then using that inf file ... but that's a lot of investigation).

I'm thinking the device might be visible in DevMgr and dejager183 might be able to coerce the install using what they have.

Your zip file might come in handy, but there is a risk in just installing those drivers. I don't know the specifics of the two devices.

The E173 modem is running on integrated Intel chipset. On the screenshots you can see the driver versions. I don't think it is phone capable - I am using it only to surf the net. In the drivers that I have uploaded there are many hardware ids, I hope the E352 modem hardware id is among them.

 

Hi guys, the modem had software installed that i removed and replaced with a newer version of Mobile Partner using the dashboard Tool. That is all that is installed on the modem at the moment, I have tried various other versions of Mobile Partner aswel and it still doesn't get "picked up" by Win 10, yet it works perfectly in Windows 7. I tried downloading the drivers werty listed but for some reason i cant download them (yes i am registered on MediaFire). It is very strange that it doesn't get recognised as a modem in Win 10. Any other advise ... please guys, this is turning out to be one heck of a challenge ... lol
