  1. hub/router & other devices not affected but broadband internet keeps dropping only for...

NB: This all happened after the recent win 10 updates to remove Adobe Flash player from the OS, and the hotfix which followed to resolve users suffering BSOD's after initial update....yes i know about that...hence why i posted this here and the fact it's only on my device when the hub is connected to 4 devices

    diagnosing the fault i get

windows can't connect to hidden network "networkfile" ....and it usually only last for a few sconds to a few minutes, so far between 5-10 times per day. that i am aware of, though it's very probably more..

NB: It was perfectly fine before this update....and it's not the only service/feature etc which has been affected also the colour palette for Nvidia control panel had no effect, and a glitch occured on my sound devices which i fixed by reinstalling the sound drivers for my mobo

anyone else had problems, and any ideas how i can fix this really tiresome problem?, i already know 2 friends i play online games with who have also noticed stability problems with the OS, so this is not an iscolated case.

    cheers

Also why was i FORCED to reboot the system due to a lockup when the fix was installed...my machine totally locked up i had no choice but to reset which could of blown virtually any or all of my components which has already happened before incidentally, and then on restarting it informs me that windows is updating, does microsoft think this is ok?, what if it had destroyed my pc?

ps can ms so called assistant just stay away thier advice is about as useful as trying to write an essay on the back of a matchbox and not wanted, you are useless end of story

    :)

  2. How to connect Mobile Broadband device to act as internet access for Ethernet hub?

    Hi Gary,

There are some factors that may affect the connection of your Mobile Broadband device to access the Internet. Sometimes, it may be caused by some configuration. To sort out your concern, we’d like to know the following information:

    • What are the troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
    • What is the make and model of your device?
    • If there's an error message, can you provide us a screenshot?
    • How are your devices connected to the network? Is it through wireless or wired connection?

We’re looking forward to your response.

  3. internet keeps dropping, says DNS error

Ok my internet line keeps dropping randomly every time I play a game, surf the web, etc. I do not know whats going on ISP changed the modem says it could be my router. I have never touched my router after doing the tomato firmware change, this is getting frustrating, any suggestions?

    Things I have tried:
    Restarting modem and router
    Changing Modem
    Restarting modem from ISP(called them)

    Internet Connection Keeps Dropping

Hello, are you always connected to the same router - or are you skipping to others? Suggest disabling these settings:

hub/router & other devices not affected but broadband internet keeps dropping only for... [IMG]

Also check your channel is not congested, and signal strength is adequate. There are freeware tools which can show you this information.

You might have to change band (frequency) - and in one scenario where someone was renting a place it was suggested the owner was restricting Wifi bandwidth...!

I'm sure others more experienced in these issues will comment.
