    I have 3 HUE HD webcams that are installed on 2 different Windows 10 laptops. They were working when I installed them with AmCAP, but now when you go into devices and choose HUE, the screen is black. Is the problem with a Windows update? How do I fix this so that it can be used?


    I also have another one on a Windows 7 laptop that works, but it shows the picture upside down. The teacher is having to put the HUE at the other end of the paper to show it correctly or turn the paper around to show it the correct way. It works, but when she needs to write on it, it causes issues as she is either trying to write upside down or the HUE is in the way.

    Black screen on Lifecam HD-3000

    Hi, I've looked through previous post and tried to find a solution without success so far. Can anyone suggest something that might work before I resort to sending the webcam back.

    I'm using a Dell desktop running Windows 10 and the Lifecam HD 3000 show a Windows10 Compatible sticker on the front. I assumed it would be plug and play. When I connect it via the USB and use the Camera App the green light shows up on the front of the
    webcam and the picture on screen in completely black.

    I've tried the following from previous posts:

    1- We suggest that you try to uninstall USB Root Hub in the Device Manager. Kindly unplug first the LifeCam before performing the steps provided below:

    • Press Windows key + R and then type devmgmt.msc.
    • Click OK.
    • Select Universal Serial bus controllers in Device Manager.
    • Right-click USB Root Hub and select Uninstall.
    • Restart your computer and it will automatically install back the driver again.



    • 2 -I understand that you’re facing issue with webcam I will make sure to help you with this issue.

    (Steps are given for Windows 8.1 but applies to Windows 10 as well)

    I also suggest you download the drivers and reinstall them in compatibility mode.

    Once the download is complete follow these steps to install the driver in compatibility mode and check.

    a. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.

    b. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on properties.

    c. Click on the compatibility tab and check the box Run this program in compatibility mode for

    and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu.

    d. Click on Apply and click OK and run the file to install it.



    Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows

    Most programs created for earlier versions of Windows also work in this version of Windows, but some older programs might run poorly or not at all. If a program written for an earlier version of Windows doesn't work correctly, you can try changing
    the compatibility settings for the program, either by using the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter or manually choosing compatibility settings.

    1 - after following the first option the black screen was still showing

    2- I tried to download the Windows 7 driver, as that is all that's showing to download. when I try to install the file, it shows up that it's not compatible and won't even let me run it.

    Feeling stuck at this point so any help would be appreciated.

    Logitech C270 webcam: no picture

    I have a Logitech C270 webcam. I used it for years on my windows computer without issues. The video stopped working some weeks ago. Firefox and Skype say that some other program uses the camera. Windows Camera app shows black picture without any error message. The microphone works fine btw.

    My first thought was that it is a Windows 10 issue:

    • Windows 10 knows about the camera. Seemingly no problem in device manager.
    • Tried out the possible workarounds listed on the internet:
      • switching to built-in drivers,
      • uninstall/reinstall device with logitech drivers,
      • different USB ports (2.0/3.0),
      • checking in process explorer if something is using the camera or its microphone,
      • deleted some files suggested somewhere in case of win 8/10 upgrade (which was not the case, but whatever works)

    I was out of ideas, so I checked the camera with my Linux laptop. Again the laptop knows about the camera, but no picture, no errors. Based on this I guess it is a hardware issue. Before throwing the cam in the trash, I just want to ask if you think that I missed something.
