    I have a pretty powerful system that is currently running Windows 10 build 18362. I've noticed this more and more in the past few weeks - my system will use an huge amount of RAM after a somewhat long uptime. And to that I have no solution. But, it's getting worse now. I have 128GB in my system, and my last restart was yesterday evening at around 10:00PM (uptime of ~12 hours). I've done nearly nothing on the system, save for a bit of Googling and some large file transfers (which have not caused this in the past). You can see in the screenshot below that my PC is constantly using nearly 30 gigabytes of RAM, and for whatever reason, even when everything is closed and the PC is at idle, this continues. The usage values in task manager certainly do not add up to 30GB, either. I am pretty much certain that all of my RAM works, as it all is usable on startup. I have only a 1GB pagefile, as I never use all of my RAM simultaneously, but this hasn't been an issue in the past either. Any help is much appreciated!

    I'm wondering if my idle ram is normal for Windows 10. It's using about 1.2-1.5GB on idle without any programs running.

    On Windows 8 it my idle usage was 900MB - 1.1GB with no programs running and with all the same programs installed.

    So is that a normal amount for windows 10? Does W10 just utilise more ram?

    How much memory is windows 10 using for you?

    - Not a fix for your unknown RAM use (Greg's suggestions should help with that), and this only adds up to a bit under 1GB use but...

    A system is not at idle with around eight Chrome browser Windows and tabs open.

    Discord, and two active searches. Not to mention a system hogging 'Anti-malware' program.

    Desktop Window Manager is using more than usual as well.

    - It looks like you have a bit of DELL bloatware running too.

    - What is the RAM use straight after re-booting Windows ?
