Windows 10: huge size of c: without no reason bec system files in system reserved

I found my c: drive get big without no reason after copy or install any thing ,when i check storage in setting after press show more categories i found that hidden system and reserved take 23-50g of the c: storagesolve : its problem in NTFS compression that take this space and after restart the system files space back to normal this bug so annoying i hope microsoft fix it asap

• High Windows.old file(s) size
• Large cache of trace files size
• Windows 10 system file issues

We would like to know some information to better isolate the issue:

• Do you have a C:\windows.old folder on your C: drive?
• Which Windows version and build are you using? Type winver on search box and press
  Enter.
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Can you post a screenshot of what is inside the System & reserved storage? Double-click System & reserved. See picture below for reference.

This statement is incorrect. The TreeSize picture you posted says that this folder consumes 4.3 MBytes. This is 2,000 times less than what you think.

Here are the folders that consume the most disk space:

• 10.3 GBytes - Program files
• 24.2 GBytes - Windows
• 6.5 GBytes - Users

This is very reasonable and represents no cause for concern.

 

System & Reserved files huge

Hi William, there is currently a bug in Windows which I think is causing this on your PC , , ,

Open Windows File Explorer

Navigate to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS - check the size of the CBS folder

If that folder is huge, here is the Fix:

Click your Start Button, type services and hit Enter to open the Services app

Scroll down to find the Windows Modules Installer service and double-click on it

Set its startup type to Manual

Restart your System

Then open Windows File Explorer

Go to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS

Delete all of the files in the CBS folder

Restart your PC

Then go back into the Services App and set Windows Modules Installer Service back to Automatic Startup
