Crytek is releasing its online multiplayer bounty hunting game Hunt: Showdown today on Xbox One! It is available in the Microsoft Store for $39.99. To celebrate the launch, we’re also really excited to be releasing a brand-new DLC pack, Legends of the Bayou.

Set in the swamps of Louisiana in 1895, Hunt: Showdown is a tense and atmospheric experience that can be played in teams of two or three, or solo. Gameplay goes like this: track down clues that will lead you to various target monsters, take them out, and eliminate your competition along the way. The XP and cash you’ll earn completing these contracts can get you more weapons, traits, and other equipment.

Creating Hunt via a community-driven development program like Xbox Game Preview has been such a huge part of the development process. The players that have been there from the beginning, putting in hours of play, and giving us their honest feedback have really shaped the game into what it is today. For example, we added teams of three to the game because it was the community request we got most often – and the player response to its addition has been great.

We couldn’t have done it without you, so I want to take this opportunity to say thank you to all the Xbox players that have been working alongside of us to make this game what it is today.

Crytek invites you to playtest their newest game Hunt: Showdown on Xbox One!

Follow the instructions below to download Hunt: Showdown and play until 6 AM PT (3 PM CEST) on May 15th, 2019.

Hunt: Showdown is a competitive first-person PvP bounty hunting game with heavy PvE elements, from the makers of Crysis. Set in the darkest corners of the world, it packs the thrill of survival games into a match-based format.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

1. Sign in and launch the Xbox Insider Hub on your Xbox One console.
2. Navigate to Insider content > Hunt: Showdown.
3. Select Join.
4. Once registration is complete, you’ll be directed to the Xbox Store to download and install Hunt: Showdown.

NOTE: Limited space is available for this playtest and will be offered on a first-come first-served basis.

If you encounter any issues during the Hunt: Showdown playtest, please submit feedback via Report a problem (hold down the Xbox button on the controller and select Report a problem from the power menu).

Crytek's Hunt: Showdown Now Available Through Steam Early Access

The wait is over: Crytek has announced that Hunt: Showdown is now available via Steam Early Access, priced at 29.99 EUR/USD and 25.99 GBP. Hunt: Showdown is a competitive multiplayer bounty hunting game that combines PvP with PvE elements in a handcrafted sandbox environment. "We want to take this opportunity to thank everybody who participated in closed alpha testing," said Hunt Producer Fatih Özbayram. "It was essential for us in our continuing developments, and we are grateful to have such a dedicated community this early in the game."

"Early access is a big milestone for the team, and we are all excited to finally be releasing Hunt: Showdown out into the wild," said Hunt: Showdown Creative Director Magnus Larbrant. "With Hunt, we wanted to make the game that we, as gamers, have always wanted to play ourselves: tense, dark, addictive, terrifying-a real adrenaline-pumping experience. We have the foundations laid out, and now with the support and input of the community during early access, we can polish that experience together."
