    Hydranix's Telemetry Disabler (Script to stop Windows tracking you)


    I wrote a quick batch script to disable some of the Windows 10 telemetry.

    It's interactive, safe*, and easy to use.

    I'm working on a more comprehensive application to control the telemetry in windows 10. A true C++ application, but there's a lot more testing to be done before I can share that.



    * Safe, but some options are permanent.

    Is Compatibility Telemetry required for Windows Security and Applicaion Updates?

    For a full explanation of Compatibility Telemetry -
    Click HERE    , and yes if you disable Compatibility Telemetry you will still receive all updates and Windows Store will continue to work!

    To stop Compatibility Telemetry completely, go to Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services and find the Diagnostics Tracking Service, double click it, in the resulting dialog, stop the service and set startup to Disabled

    To further assist you, we suggest that you disable Windows Telemetry by following these steps:

    • Click Start menu then type Services.
    • Look for Diagnostics Tracking Service in the list and open its Property Sheet.
    • Stop Diagnostics Tracking Service and change the Startup type to Disabled.
