Windows 10: Hyper-V backup completes with error: "VSS error 0x800423f4: The writer experienced a...

I have a problem when using Window backup, if the virtual machine is off the backup progress is fine but when I turned the virtual machine on and started to backup then the problem occurred: Detailed Error : 800423F4 Detailed Error Message : The writer experienced a non-transient error. If the backup process is retried, the error is likely to reoccur.I'v tried to get help and searched online, but have found no answers.

Cannot create checkpoint on Hyper-V (0x800423F4)

Host Machine:

• Intel Core i3 3120M @ 2,50Ghz 2,50Ghz
  
• 12GB RAM
  
• Windows 10 Enterprise 64Bit
  
• 750GB HD
  
• 250GB SSD
  

Virtual Machine:

• Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise
  
• 4 virtual processors
  
• 8GB RAM
  

I'm having some problems to create checkpoints on my VM. When i try to do it, Hyper-V goes until 19% of the creating progress, and then this error screen appears:



I've analyzed Event Viewer's logs, and on the Hyper-V Worker > Admin section, it shows the following messages:

And I also collected VSSDiag's log, which contains no relevant information (at least for me)

Some important points to consider:

1. I have enough space on the SSD drive to store the checkpoint file.
   
2. I've tried to stop all non-Microsoft services on the VM and restart it, but no success
   
3. If i turn off the VM, the checkpoint can be created with no errors.
   
4. According to this article, i've also checked the KB982018, and it's already installed on the VM.
   

I can't figure out what the hell is going on... Some help?

 

WID Writer Non-retryable error Windows 2016 Server

Hello Team,

When I tried to perform backup get an error with WID writer. Under Event viewer get this error message:

A VSS writer has rejected an event with error 0x800423f4, The writer experienced a non-transient error. If the backup process is retried,

the error is likely to reoccur.

. Changes that the writer made to the writer components while handling the event will not be available to the requester. Check the event log for related events from the application hosting the VSS writer.

Cannot create recovery disk in Windows 10 (VSS writer fail 0x800423f4)


Since installing (through Windows Update) Windows 10 Home 64-bit on my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit PC I have been unable to create a recovery disk. Each try ends with the error (event log) pasted below.

I hope someone could help me with this one. I have asked Microsoft in avail, also tried various solutions from different forums. This question is also asked by many others, but there seems to be no solution.

I have fixed several problems, including the corrupt image in edge (MicrosoftEdgeSquare44x44.scale-125_contrast-white.png), then succesfully running dism and sfc. Also fixed the CAPI2 error using SC sdshow MSLLDP.

Now this is the only problem I have left, but I am getting desperate.
