I have a Windows 10 VM running on a Hyper-V host. The client used to work before, but now it can't get any connectivity to the network at all. Nothing has changed on host, and the host's network connection just fine.

Hyper-V host cannot RDP into local clients running in an internal network

I have installed Hyper-V on my Windows 10 machine and are running a few different test machines on it. My test machines have two Nics -- One is disabled and primarily used when I need them to connect with the internet for various downloads etc. The other
Nic is connected to an internal switch on the host with hardcoded IP's allowing the VMs to always communicate with each other.

My problem is when I attempt to RDP into the VMs from the host machine I am not able to reach them. IF I log into the machines first through the Hyper-V console and toggle a Nic (i.e. disable/enable one of the nics) I am able to RDP into the VM until it
is rebooted again (My host is a laptop so they are being shutdown nightly).

I did mess around with the network settings on a previous setup and had it working -- but I am unable to reproduce the same settings. Currently the host is all "auto" setup by the system with three switches:

    • External linked to my Wireless Nic
    • External Linked to my Physical Nic
    • Internal switch used for the VM's communicate amongst each other
Any ideas on what network settings I am missing that will allow me to connect to the VM's instantly through an RDP connection? (I can console connect but prefer using RDCMan).

    Thanks,

    HP

Hyper-V with OpenVPN on Host Machine

    Hi All,

I'm running Windows 10 Build 10565 with Hyper-V role. My PC(Host Machine) has an assigned IP with MAC binding, and a data limit. So I use OpenVPN with IPv6 to get unlimited access to the Internet(through a VPS remotely). That's to say, I have a physical
Network Card and a Virtual Network Card(TAP-V9 by OpenVPN) before the Hyper-V installed. When I launched a VM, I could not get access to the Internet on it(running Win7) in any configuration of virtual NIC. Besides, if I set the Virtual NIC with the physical
network card in external mode, it would also break the OpenVPN access. So how do I config the Hyper-V Virtual NIC to get it work?

    Any Advise would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Hyper-V client has lost network, on host machine which still works fine?

Hyper-v host cannot communicate with client

    I am running build 14295.rs1_release.160318-1628.

I have a windows 7 pro running under hyper v.

Try as I may, I cannot get the two to communicate. They are on the same subnet (192.168.0.). Both are able to communicate with the rest of the network and the internet. Local dns works fine.

I am trying to run some graphics tools that require directx 11 and/or opengl 4.

My host is an Asus P8P67 24gb ram, quad i7, 5gb hdd Evga Geforece GTX 970 4gb ddr5.

I really need this to work. Some of the tools I use won't run under windows 10 yet, even under compatibility settings.

If I could get them talking I could at least try remotefx.

I have emailed myself a help request from the client. When I open it in the host and enter the password, the host searches for a while and says it cannot connect.

I am truly open to suggestions.

    Thank you in advance.
